February Meeting

Greetings everyone. Hope everyone has a good start to the new year. I have come to share information about the upcoming meeting for February. ?≧◉ᴥ◉≦

Date and Time: Sunday, February 6, 2022 – 2:00pm to 3:30pm
Presenter: The person speaking will be Elisabeth Williams of Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts
Theme: Exploring linguistic diversity in Japan as a method to teach theories of bilingualism

About the meeting: This presentation has two goals: (1) to discuss common myths connected to notions of bilingualism in Japan and (2) to look at specific activities that can challenge these myths while effectively teaching about theories of bilingualism. The speaker will first explore the myths in relation to secondary research and her own experiences teaching theories of bilingualism in a Japanese university. Afterwards sample activities that would be of great interest to students. Lastly, the speaker looks forward to answering any questions and discuss more about this topic with all in attendance.

This meeting, which is free to members and guests, will be held by ‘Zoom’ and can be registered by following the information on the JALT Toyohashi homepage. ✍(◔◡◔)
